Multi-slice dose issues : helical scanning

• Interpolation requires extra irradiation at either end of image volume

  • extra half or full rotation is needed at both ends of scan in ss,
  • sometimes more in ms

• This is more significant for multi-slice

  • beam wider, and in particular when using short scan ranges
