Dosimetry – CT dose descriptors
CT uses different dose descriptors to the rest of x-ray
- Dose is highly localised, and distributed differently
Computed tomography dose index (CTDI) used to characterise exposure
- Equivalent to the mean dose within a scanned volume
- Units are the Gray (Gy), usual levels are in milliGray (mGy)
