Results : Philips DOM (Rotational AEC)
200 mA DoseRight DOM off, 170 mA DOM on
DOM on has 3% lower noise over 5 ROIs when corrected for mA difference
Notes:
The final results slide shows the effect of varying the mA during the course of a single rotation.
With Philips’ DoseRight DOM switched off, the SD at centre and peripheral positions is as shown.
With DOM on, the reduced tube current in the AP and PA directions leads to increased noise, particularly in the North and South positions.
When a correction is made for the different mA settings used with DOM on and DOM off, it can be seen that the net effect is a reduction in the variation of noise across the image, and the mean noise in all 5 ROIs has reduced by about 3%
