The ImPACT phantom
Acrylic cone phantom, 300 mm long
- Elliptical cross section in ratio 3:2 (typical for abdomen), increases from 61.2 X 40.8 to 428.7 x 285.8 mm
- Based on ‘Apollo’ phantom developed by Y Muramatsu, National Cancer Centre, Tokyo
Notes:
ImPACT have developed a phantom for AEC assessment, consisting of an acrylic cone, 300 mm long.
It has an elliptical cross section, in the ratio of 3:2, which is approximately correct for an abdomen.
It is designed to attach to the carrying case of a Catphan phantom, and is suspended in air.
It was developed from a similar design of phantom from the National Cancer Centre in Tokyo.
