Cardiac Gating

• Cardiac movement normally blurs CT images

• Using a pitchx of ~0.25 gives overlapping spirals, each part of the heart imaged for ~ four rotations

• Four data sets for each slice, each starting at a different cardiac phase

• Using ECG, data sets can be combined so that all projection angles are covered for a similar cardiac phase
