Moving to the minimum scan time achievable:
Clearly, GE do not currently offer such a low minimum scan time as the other manufacturers. This could be related to their choice of rotation drive mechanism, if there are increased difficulties with focal spot movement at higher rotation speed.
However, GE have indicated that detector dead time and afterglow are the limiting factors when attempting to use smaller and smaller scan times. They have presented work showing that they are able to correct for this, suggesting the possibility for shorter scan times in the future.
