Notes:
- MS Scanners offer Up to 3.2 times more Z-axis coverage per rotation than Single Slice scanners, This means longer and more uniform phantoms in the Z-axis are required.
- They also offer wider range of slice thickness between 0.5 - 20mm in comparison to 1.0 to 10mm for SS scanners, This will limit the size of the test object and increase the requirement for object contrast.
- MS scanners provide higher resolution in the image plane, which may result in greater contrast for small objects in comparison to SS scanners.
These requirements rendered most of our old phantoms specially phantoms designed for axial mode scanning unsuitable for the assessment of MS scanners and new phantoms were needed
