Firstly: detector array design. Multi-slice scanning systems incorporate from 8 - 34 rows of detectors along the length of the patient – along the z-axis. Each one of the 8-34 rows contains 100’s of detectors in the scan plane. When I talk about detector design, I’ll consider the design in the z-direction – NOT in the scan plane.
