:: evaluation reports
PLEASE NOTE
There are issues with the external website that currently holds the CEP reports. Please read the problems section below
The results of ImPACT's past scanner evaluations have been published by the NHS PASA Centre for Evidence-based Purchasing (CEP), as evaluation reports. These reports allow purchasers to make decisions based on independent and detailed information. A list of reports is given in the table below with links to a summary of each report, which then links to the download page at CEP.
There are a number of types of report:
- Multi-product comparison reports, which compare the scanners currently on the market that we have assessed.
- In depth single product technical evaluation report. These cover the imaging and dosimetric aspects of a scanner.
- User evaluation reports, which cover the ease of use, ergonomics and facilities provided by a scanner.
- Various other reports, such as 'Methods and Methodology', which describes our assessment techniques and rationale.
Problems linking to reports?
We are aware that there have problems with the links from our site to some of the published reports, due to the CEP website closing and the reports archive being moved. These links should all now be working: if you continue to experiencing difficulties, you are best to go to the CEP web site and select the report from the list
latest update
The CEP archive is currently unavailable. This is hosted by another organisation and was apid for by central funding that has now ceased. We are working to get these reports back in the public domain as soon as we can
Planned Reports
Please note: due to our current position
there are currently no plans to finish type testing of the 64 slice scanners
currently on offer; nor the newest scanners such as 256-slice scanners and
dual-source scanners. We know you all feel evaluation of these scanners is
important but that view was not shared at higher funding levels.
If you are concerned about better understanding of how CT developments are
implemented in your area, please think about requesting a suitable project from
NICE; details on their website . Alternatively, please

If you are looking for dosimetric information, please also read our note regarding the CT Dosimetry tool, which you can find here.
