BOOKS
- MEDICAL CT AND ULTRASOUND: CURRENT TECHNOLOGY AND APPLICATIONS: AAPM 1995 SUMMER SCHOOL.
- Editors Goldman L.W. and Fowlkes J.B, (Advanced Medical Publishing) (1995) ~$50. ISBN: 1-883526-03-5, Advanced Medical Publishing 5331 Brody Drive, Ste. 201, Madison, Wisconsin 53705, Phone 608-233-3994 Fax 608-233-6634, or American Association of Physicists in Medicine, One Physics Ellipse, College Park, Maryland, 20740. Comment: Excellent Physics book from basics to spiral: the contributors are all leaders in their field, and/or experienced since early days of CT. (You get ultrasound thrown in as well)
- RSNA 2000 SYLLABUS: CATEGORICAL COURSE IN DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING RADIOLOGY PHYSICS: CT AND US CROSS SECTIONAL IMAGING.
- Editors Goldman L.W. and Fowlkes J.B. Comment: Updated version of above reference.
- COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY.
- Kalendar, Willi A, Publicis MCD Varlag, 2000. Comment: Excellent technical guide to CT scanning, including multislice CT.
- COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY: PRINCIPLES, DESIGN, ARTIFACTS AND RECENT ADVANCES.
- Jiang Hsieh (Editor), SPIE PRESS Monograph Vol. PM114. ISBN: 0819444251
- HELICAL SPIRAL CT A PRACTICAL APPROACH.
- Robert Zeman, James A. Brink et al. McGraw-Hill, Inc. Health Professions Division, ISBN 0-07-072653-1 ~ £70+VAT. Comment: A good Physics chapter and one on current technology old vs new, as well as some good clinical chapters.
- SPECIFICATION AND ACCEPTANCE TESTING OF COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY SCANNERS AAPM REPORT NO.39. (1993) $10.
- Copies can be obtained from AAPM address above. Comment: A good basic reference (it's cheap as well!). Doesn't seem to include spiral but was published in 1993 so has gone beyond treating CT as a new and strange modality.
- MEASUREMENT OF THE PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS OF DIAGNOSTIC X-RAY SYSTEMS USED IN MEDICINE. PART III COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY X-RAY SCANNERS, Edition 2.
- Edyvean S., Jones A. (IPEM, York, 2004).
- MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR THE MONITORING OF DIAGNOSTIC X-RAY EQUIPMENT PERFORMANCE.
- Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine and Biology / College of Radiographers / National Radiation Protection Board.
- TYPE TESTING OF CT SCANNERS: METHODS AND METHODOLOGY FOR ASSESSING IMAGING PERFORMANCE AND DOSIMETRY.
- Edyvean S. et al. MDA/98/25.
- SPIRAL CT. PRINCIPLES, TECHNIQUES AND CLINICAL APPLICATIONS.
- Fishman, Elliot K. and Jeffrey, Brooke R. Raven Press ~£112 + VAT. Comment: Only one short physics chapter. Good on the clinical side.
- COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY: PHYSICAL PRINCIPLES, CLINICAL APPLICATIONS AND QUALITY CONTROL, 2ND EDITION.
- Seeram, E. Pub. W.B. Saunders, 2001. Comment: Good general book. Lots of examples from different manufacturers. Now updated to include multi-slice
- THE ESSENTIAL PHYSICS OF MEDICAL IMAGING.
- Bushong Jerrold T.et al. Williams and Wilkins, 1994. Comment: Good chapter on CT.
