Cardiac CT Scanning. MHRA 03076, Sep-03

Cardiac imaging is one of the most rapidly developing areas in CT. The capabilities of multi-slice scanners, together with dedicated acquisition and reconstruction techniques mean that the blurring normally associated with cardiac movement can be overcome. High quality CT images of the heart and its vasculature can now be achieved in a non-invasive manner. This report covers the techniques required to achieve this goal, the equipment that is currently available to do so, and the applications that the resultant images can be used for.

Electronic access to a pdf file version of this report is available from the CEP website.

Printed reports are available to the NHS free of charge. Non-NHS users can purchase a printed copy of this report for £ [price on application]
